Nashville’s Natural Child is making their Huntsville debut with none other than those local gays The Porcharitas, Royal Baths (Brooklyn) and Nightmare Boyzzz (Florence). The Porcharitas have a new 7 inch EP dropping at the beginning of March on Vertical House Records! The show is free and will be held at Voodoo Lounge (downtown on the square in Huntsville).

We’re back after 3 months and we’re ready to make Huntsville laugh, so come out to the show that American Idol host Ryan Seacrest called “dope” and “fly” and “the best thing I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot”
Friday January 27th, your comedians include Landon Traller, Nicole Boquette, Scott Eason, Jason Steinhauser, Tom Hand, Sam McLeroy, and Stephen Claybrooks. And as always, hosted by me, Justin Ledlow
New jokes! All R-rated material! We don’t do clean comedy in this joint (not that we can’t, it’s just we know you’re all a bunch of dirty animals so we wanna deliver)
8 PM, doors will be open around 7:30, and it’s still only $5! Cheap entertainment yall!
Also, the Flying Monkey is a BYOB environment, so stop asking me if we’ll be serving drinks – we’re not, because we’re not a damn catering company, so get off your ass and bring your own booze

Download “Riding Through the Jungle” (single) by Pizza!
With the release of this free digital single, LA’s Pizza! (staring Huntsville native Geoff Geis) presents a taste of the next-level weirdo pop eclecticism that runs rampant on the group’s upcoming album available this fall from Vanity Projects. “Riding Through the Jungle” is a linear epic that combines group sing-along vocals with an abstract, dubby groove, while “Buttersaw” is a straight-ahead new wave rager built behind lyrics addressing the uncomfortable truths of post-Bush America. As a bonus, the single includes a hard-hitting, club-ready remix of “Riding Through the Jungle” from rising electro heroes Kid Infinity.
Pizza! is comprised of these five fun-lovin’ bros, from left to right: Geoff Geis (lead vocals, guitars), Rand Voorhies (drums, guitars), Tyler Sabbag (drums), Duncan Thum (bass, keyboards, vocals), Alex Myrvold (keyboards, bass, vocals). Photo by Andy Quinn.
In 2010, the band released a collection called Bogus Rimshots from the Fourth (download here) via Kill/Hurt Cassettes. In August of this year, the group released a video for the song “Be a Man” (view on Youtube).
The members of Pizza! have participated in these other notable musical projects: Big Whup, Dnonkong, Evan Voytas, Fol Chen, Geoff Geis, Liars, Walter Meego.
Huntsville’s G-Side stopped by to do a Daytrotter Session while they were on tour. You can listen to the 3 songs here. Doing 3 songs off their newest album “The One…Cohesive”. If you don’t keep up with them already you can find more of their music / videos / etc on the Slow Motion Soundz site.
Seattle, Washington drone doom kings EARTH will be gracing the stage of the Flying Monkey Art Center. Also appearing that night is K Recording artist Mount Eerie (previously The Microphones) also from Washington state. Opening for the acts is Huntsville Folk/Blues/Rock group Baker Street Irregulars (staring Robert Daniel). This group hasn’t played a show in a long time so it should be a good one. Hope to see you all there!
